"Your wife was at fault, but even if you came into your obi and found her lover on top of her, you would still have committed a great evil to beat her...the evil you have done can ruin the whole clan."
I really thought this quote was significant in this story because it teaches that hitting a woman is wrong and should not be committed.
This book deals with how the prospect and reality of change affect various characters It is slow at the end but trust me it get better. It is basically about a African man who claim to fame is restoring honor to his country, but it going to catch up with him though...?

I actually just realize that the book I'm reading has a movie coming out starring the rapper 50¢which is so cool because the book is great so I know the movie will be to.
So Okonkwo mad? Post 5
Okonkwo pulled a gun on his second wife he was a little mad. Not at her but at his father but he still aimed it at her while she was pregnant. That's wrong how cowardly is that. She didnt get hurt but that shows how weak he really is.

I love how Okonkwo blame everything on "The White Men" how he came in changed everything, but in actuality the people changed everything "The White Men" just influenced them. Okonkwo is just used to be the leader so when they are not following him he gets mad and try to reclaim his power, but all he ends up doing is hanging his own self, which is unhonorable anyway.

The book is getting really intresting now I am at the part where Okonkwo actually cut the son-like boy with a machete because he didn't want to look like a coward. This is crazy he is really consume with too much pride he is willing to sacrifice his only son just so he won't look weak.
